Tummy Tuck - A Flatter Stomach

An abdominoplasty, also called a tummy tuck, can flatten your stomach if exercise and diet doesn’t seem to work.

Many people relentlessly exercise, yet their stomach still protrudes and appears flabby. This is because the stomach walls and skin have been stretched due to pregnancy or excessive weight gain. We recommend that these patients undergo tummy tuck surgery, also called abdominoplasty, at our Colorado Springs clinic. The abdominoplasty procedure removes excess skin and tightens sagging abdominal muscles.

The Tummy Tuck Procedure

Our abdominoplasty surgeon, Dr. Speirs, can perform either a full or partial tummy tuck, depending on the amount of abdominal rejuvenation needed.

Two incisions are required for a full abdominoplasty: the first is made between the hipbones, just above the pubic area; the second incision temporarily detaches the navel from the tissue beneath it. Dr. Speirs tightens the abdominal muscles, stitching them into their new positions. Then, after trimming away any excess skin, Dr. Speirs repositions the navel and closes all incisions.

The entire tummy tuck procedure will take between two and five hours; depending on the complexity of your situation, your abdominoplasty may or may not be done in a hospital setting.

The most common tummy tuck side effects reported by our Colorado Springs patients are moderate bruising and swelling. These effects tend to greatly diminish within about 10 days.

Liposuction - Slimmer Hips, Abdomen, Thighs, Butt, and Arms

Liposuction, also called lipoplasty, can eliminate fat deposits from the hips, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, arms, knees, calves and upper torso.

The Liposuction Procedure

Dr. Speirs was the first doctor to use the ultrasonic liposuction technique in the Colorado Springs area. This innovative method of liposuction offers our patients the highest possible quality of treatment. To perform liposuction, Dr. Speirs makes one or more small incisions near the area that is to be treated. Then, he injects a solution that aids the liposuction procedure and minimizes bleeding.

An ultrasonic probe is carefully inserted to break up and liquefy the fat, which is then removed, collected, and measured. Of course, there are subtleties to the liposuction procedure, including delicate manipulation of the probe to separate a precise amount of fat. Overall, however, the procedure is amazingly simple and accomplishes a great deal.

Vein Therapy - Beautiful Legs

We use sclerotherapy to remove spider veins and restore the healthy, unblemished look to your legs.

Spider veins are bundles of red and blue veins visible on the surface of the skin. This embarrassing condition afflicts millions of adult women. It is commonly attributed to poor blood circulation due to prolonged sitting, hormonal shifts and childbirth.

The Vein Therapy Procedure

Our surgeon first stretches and cleans the skin. He then injects a special solution into the spider vein. This causes the vein to weaken and disappear into the surrounding tissue. Up to 30 injections are made to clear the skin of spider veins. This one-hour procedure doesn’t require anesthesia or hospitalization afterward. The only side effect is mild skin irritation or a prickling sensation.

Spider veins on the face are removed with a needle that sends tiny pulses of electricity into the skin to dissolve discoloration. Varicose veins, which are larger and darker than spider veins, can sometimes be removed through sclerotherapy. However, varicose veins usually require more complex procedures.

Don’t wait any longer to transform your body into the one you’ve always dreamed of!
